Jeff Savage and Wes Wright will focus on the financial picture from a global view as well as a local perspective. Savage points out "The worldwide financial markets are experiencing significant revaluation and reassessment of risk in light of the current credit crisis. Equity markets, fixed income markets, cash markets and alternative markets are all experiencing historical amounts of volatility as they decipher the current environment. Portfolios have gone from risk aggressiveness to risk aversion in recent weeks and the results in repricing have been dramatic." The City Club will explore how we got to this point and some of the best investment strategies moving forward.
Roger Lee will share information about the economic outlook for Central Oregon and will discuss how the economic prosperity of the region relates to population, employment opportunities and key industries such as Healthcare, Real Estate and Manufacturing. Lee will provide insight into the region's interdependence on the national economy as well as its independence in attracting growth industries for future economic strength.
The City Club Forum will begin at 11:30 a.m. on November 20th and conclude at 1:00 p.m. The Forum will be conducted at St. Charles Center for Health and Learning at 2600 Neff Road in Bend, Oregon.
