Is There Enough Water in the Deschutes River Basin?
The City Club of Central Oregon with the generous support of Karnopp Petersen, LLC will conduct the final Forum of 2008 with a discussion about the Deschutes River Basin and try to answer the question "Is there is enough water to nurture the environment, provide the recreational opportunities so many enjoy and serve the agricultural needs of the region?"
On December 18, 2008 the City Club will welcome Jonathan Le Marche, Hydrologist with the Oregon Water Resources Department and Tod Heisler, Executive Director of the Deschutes River Conservancy to provide education about Deschutes River Hydrology, to inform about the challenges of water allocation and water rights, and discuss the possible solutions to meeeting the myriad of demands on the river while protecting this wonderful Central Oregon resource.
The Forum will begin at 11:30 and conclude at 1:00 p.m. City Club Forums are conducted at St. Charles Center for Health and Learning, 2500 NE Neff Road in Bend. Click here for further information and speaker bios.
