Standing Committees of the City Club will be responsible for proposing strategies and policies and overseeing their implementation. All committees of the City Club and subcommittees thereof, shall be comprised of members in good standing. The City Club Bylaws outline policies related to committees, committee chairpersons and committee charge. The following are the City Club Committees, Board liaisons and members.
Governance and Nominating Committee:
The Governance & Nominations Committee shall consist of five members, to be appointed by the president subject to approval by the Board of Directors. If available, the immediate past president shall serve as a sixth, nonvoting member of the Committee. The Governance & Nominations Committee will be responsible to the Board of Directors in assuring that that there are high quality candidates for the Board of Directors and that the composition of the Board of Directors appropriately represents the region and its demographics. The Governance & Nominations Committee shall monitor the implementation of the Bylaws of The City Club, develop policies for adoption by the Board of Directors; and shall present nominees for vacant positions as officers and directors of The City Club for election at the Annual Meeting.

Communication Committee:
The need for a Communications Committee will considered at a future date by the Board of Directors. Until it is established, the functions of the Communications Committee shall be delegated to the Membership & Marketing and the Executive Committees, and to the Executive Director. (Once it is established the Communications Committee shall advise the Board of Directors regarding the method and content of communications to members and the public, and the manner in which any report of The City Club shall be made public. The Communications Committee shall be responsible for production, distribution and maintenance of The City Club's website, newsletter, bulletins or other publications regularly distributed for the benefit of the members. The secretary shall be a member, but not necessarily the chair, of the Communications Committee.)
Program Committee:
The Program Committee shall have responsibility of recommending to the Board of Directors, and assisting the Executive Director in planning of all forums, special programs and public events and shall arrange the programs and facilities for the meetings of The City Club.

Membership and Marketing Committee:
The Membership & Marketing Committee shall recommend and implement adopted policies and practices regarding membership in The City Club; monitor compliance with membership requirements; provide orientation to new members of The City Club; and recommend and perform any host functions for The City Club as approved by the Board of Directors.
Development and Finance Committee:
The Development & Finance Committee shall advise the Board of Directors and the treasurer in all financial matters pertaining to The City Club; shall draft The City Club's annual budget for submission to the Board of Directors at a time determined by the Board of Directors; and shall design and implement, subject to approval by the Board of Directors, a financial development plan for The City Club. The treasurer shall be a member, but not necessarily the chair, of the Finance Committee. The Development & Finance Committee will take a leadership role in the Annual Fund Campaign, help participate in securing sponsorships and operating grants and presenting an annual special event. Members will help make personal solicitations and follow up calls to secure gifts, assist with donor recognition and serve as “ambassadors” for annual giving to The City Club.

Research Committee:
Effective 2007, a Research Committee shall be established to monitor national, state and local issues that might become the subjects of initiative research, inquiry or program content for The City Club; identify ballot measures that are suitable for analysis or other action by the Research Committee and The City Club; recommend actions to the Board of Directors with respect to identified ballot measures, including but not limited to formal studies or public information forums; and implement those actions approved by the Board of Directors. The Research Committee may establish and appoint its subcommittees, which may consist of or include members of The City Club who are not members of the Research Committee. The Research Committee and any subcommittees shall operate pursuant to policies and procedures determined by the Committee and approved by the Board of Directors. Members of the Research Committee and any subcommittee thereof shall be subject to such conflict of interest policies as the Board of Directors may adopt from time to time.
Executive Committee:
The Executive Committee will be composed of the President, President-Elect, Past-President, Treasurer and the Executive Director. It will meet at the President’s request but may only act on behalf of the Board of Directors upon authority previously delegated to it by a policy established by, or a special vote of the Directors. Depending upon the agenda of the Executive Committee meeting, Committee Chairs may be requested to join in the deliberations of the Executive Committee when the discussion involves a function assigned to their committee. The Executive Committee will develop the annual budget and work plan to be presented to the full Board at the beginning of each fiscal year. Events Committee
The Events Committee will be composed of City Club members who will assist the Executive Director in the event logistics related to running City Club Forums and events.
